Adventure is all about
exploring new things, learning and doing something new which you have never
done it before. Life would be more interesting if there is a little bit of
adventure is added to it. One such thing which
I enjoyed in my MBA
life is a Brand war. One amazing experience I could ever have. Brand war was an
event or a competition between the first year MBA’s students wherein one class
was a team. No event could be as interesting as brand war because in this
competition, we actually got to know the reality of the market outside there,
something that was out of the box.
Brand War was a
wonderful event where I got to learn many new things. This event was not like a
subject where you study, write it in the exam and forget it later, but, learning
where your career can also be built. We also got to learn about the difficulties
of launching a product, come out with different flavours, create a product
name, taglines, jingle, advertisements, promotions and what not. When the
competition was announced for the first time there was lot of excitement among
the students as it was something new for all of us. A core committee was formed
as there was a bidding session for various categories. We had a mentor from
second year to lead us. The name of the product we kept was FREPOZZ, with a
tagline, PIYO ISSE HAR ROZ. The core committee divided the entire class into
different groups like, promotion team, production team, selling team, techies
and so on. We as a team came up together as a company and started to work in
the respective teams. At the same time the real competition i.e., the rivalry
had begun between the classes who also were participating.
Of course there were good times and bad times during
the brand war. We had arguments, fights, unity, and togetherness and so on. But
what I learnt from this event was always we need to have a healthy competition
so that we can bring the good image in the society. Launching a product is not
as easy as we think. It takes lot of difficulties, pain, hard work and patience
to bring a product in the market.
Our target customers were our seniors and it was our
part of duty to convince them to get them at our place of selling Frepozz. We
had to initially promote the brand name, brand ambassadors and also the
product. But we lacked at preparation and it became a mess at last. Somehow we
tried to manage and the promotion part went good. The next day, there was
preparation for offline promotions like Flash Mob, revealing the brand
ambassadors, product launching and so on. There were 2 main things for us to
do. The first thing was to reach out to our customers and the second thing was
to make our product much better with 3 different flavours. We were given to come
out with watermelon juice in 3 flavours.
We also had to sacrifice our Sundays as we had to
decorate the place where we given for selling our product. Though it was Sunday,
we enjoyed working together in team, in the class, doing various sorts of
decorating items. We danced a little, sung few songs, worked together and
passed the entire day. On the day of selling, that is the final day, we had to
work really hard to get our customers to our place of selling. There were
chaos, arguments, confusion and some sort of fun too in the event.
Though we didn’t win the Brand war, the experience
that we had was amazing. The deserving team had won as their efforts were more
than that of us. This was our behind the scenes of brand war. Thanks to all
those who made this event possible.
