Is sitting in a train and looking out an adventure? The real adventure would be when you sit in a same train that drops from a highest point; yes it’s the roller coaster. But not just any roller coaster, the longest roller coaster in the world.
Steel Dragon 2000 is a roller coaster at Nagashima Spa Land amusement park in Japan. Built by Morgan Manufacturing, this coaster opened appropriately in 2000 – “The Year of the Dragon” in Asia. It debuted 3 months after Millennium Force at Cedar point, and surpassed that as the world’s tallest complete-circuit coaster. It also took the record for the longest track length – 2,479 metres. It is also the second fastest ride in Japan.
History:
On 28 July 2000 an exclusive opening ceremony was held. Park President Mr.  Otani received certificates from the CEO of Guinness World Records for four records broken by Steel Dragon 2000. Subsequently, over 2000 competition winners rode Steel Dragon 2000 before opening day on August 1.
Design:
After the lift hill is an initial drop of 306.8 feet and a 252 foot camel-back hill. The train subsequently rises up and into the figure-eight shaped helix. The train the passes through mid-course brake run and over six more camel-back hills, passing through two tunnels along the way before reaching the final brakes.
Wow! That was an Amazing ride. Now this is how adventure is going to ride in our heart and mind.
